This has given me the reminder I needed to incorporate body fluids, using the earth to bury what is cut and transform it into something beneficial; i.e., what is rotted away becomes rich soil for growth.

I definitely agree with you about the threefold rule, I'm not saying that there aren't consequences (even non magical actions have them), but I also don't think hexing is inherently a bad thing either, it's all motive based!
